Users
To access a project, users must obtain specific capabilities for it. Capabilities are roles that define the actions users can perform on the project.
ℹ️
The roles mentioned on this page are described in detail on the roles and capabilities page.
Obtaining or Granting Capabilities on a Project
Some capabilities can be inherited from roles defined at the Portal level, for example:
- A portal administrator or portal project manager will have access to all projects.
Beyond inherited capabilities, users can obtain project-specific capabilities in several ways:
- Manual Addition: A portal administrator, portal user manager, project administrator, or project user manager can manually add users.
- Access Request: Portal collaborators can submit an access request for projects visible in the portal. This request is then approved or denied by a project manager.
- Share Link: A user can obtain project-specific capabilities via a share link generated by someone with the necessary permissions.
Available Capabilities for a Project
As soon as a user is assigned to a project, they gain the implicit capability to view the 3D model.
The other capabilities are as follows:
- View Project Users: Allows the user to see the project’s user list and their capabilities.
- Share the Project: Defines whether the user can generate a share link for the project.
- Administer the Project: Allows modification of project settings, including location, cover image, coordinate system, 3D data, and users.
- Manage Project Users: Enables the management of project users and their capabilities.
- Manage 3D Data: Allows the management of 3D data within the project, including adding, deleting, and modifying data parameters.
