Coordinate System
A coordinate system may or may not be defined for a project. This configuration is optional:
- Without a coordinate system: the project uses a local coordinate system. In this case, the 3D globe will not be available.
- With a coordinate system: all 3D data layers assigned to the project must be uploaded to RIM-Nat in the defined coordinate system for the project. The 3D globe will then be available.
ℹ️
RIM-Nat does not support on-the-fly reprojection. The coordinate system must be decided during data production, prior to uploading to RIM-Nat.
Constraints Related to the Coordinate System
- The 3D globe is only available if a coordinate system is defined for the project.
- All 3D data layers assigned to the project must match the coordinate system defined for the project.
- The available coordinate systems are those referenced in the EPSG database: https://epsg.io/.
- You can select a custom coordinate system by searching for its common name or EPSG code.
Defining a Coordinate System for a Project
To define a coordinate system for a project:
- Open the project page.
- In the Coordinate System section, click Edit.
- Search for the name or code of the coordinate system in the dropdown list.
- Confirm your selection with the Validate button.
- Check that the coordinate system is correct by displaying the 3D model to see if it is added in the right location on the globe.
In edit mode, it is also possible to remove the coordinate system by clicking the red cross.
