Uploading Data

Uploading Data

⚠️
Only users with the role of portal administrator, portal project manager, or portal layers manager can upload data. Please ensure you have the necessary permissions from your portal administrator. More information is available on roles and capabilities.

Uploading data in RIM-Nat is quick and easy. Follow the steps below to transfer your files to the platform.

Upload Steps

  1. Log in to your RIM-Nat account
  2. Access the desired portal
  3. Open the “Layers” section
  4. Click on “3D Data Upload”
  5. Select the data type (point cloud, mesh, etc.)
  6. Name the layer descriptively
  7. Select the file to upload
  8. Start the upload by clicking the upload arrow

Conversion Process

Once the file is uploaded, the data will be converted in preparation for display. You can track the conversion steps in the portal’s “Layers” section. When the conversion is complete, the layer will appear in the list of available layers and can be assigned to portal projects.

Managing 3D Layers

A 3D layer can be assigned to one or more projects, enabling data sharing across different projects. To assign a layer to a project, simply go to the relevant project and add the layer.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with display or conversion, please refer to the following tips:

  • If the layer does not appear in the conversion list after 1 hour: Contact technical support.
  • If the layer appears in the conversion list but the process does not complete after 6 hours: Check the format specifications to ensure the file is valid.
  • If the format is valid but the conversion remains incomplete after 12 hours: Contact technical support for assistance.
