Introduction to 3D Data Layers
3D Data Layers refer to digital models (point clouds, meshes, BIM models, etc.) uploaded by users with the capability to manage data layers on the RIM-Nat portal. These Layers can then be assigned to one or more Projects within a Portal, allowing them to be visualized and analyzed in 3D by users associated with the Project.
⚠️
Only those with the role of portal administrator, portal project manager, or portal layers manager can upload data. Please ensure you have the necessary permissions from your portal administrator. More information is available on roles and capabilities.
Data Upload and Optimization Process
Uploading data layers is the primary step for any data producer wishing to share 3D data on RIM-Nat. Once uploaded, the layers are converted and optimized losslessly, allowing smooth real-time visualization, and they become available for assignment to projects.
